What is your triumph and victory story?
Dr. Remi: As the first black women’s TV show in Rhode Island, I faced various setbacks from people who wanted to hold me back. They believed that these hindrances would prevent me from achieving my goals. However, I didn’t let that stop me. Through perseverance and self-confidence, I triumphed over these obstacles. Once I discovered my inner motivation, I felt more compelled to pursue my dreams.
What was your vision when you first started in your industry? How has your vision changed or remained the same at this point of your entrepreneurial/creative journey?
Dr. Remi: My aim was to celebrate the achievements of black and brown business owners who may not receive the recognition they deserve. I envisioned bringing underdogs in leadership, entrepreneurship, and creativity into the spotlight. Today, I’m thrilled to say that my vision has become a reality — I’m successfully highlighting these cultures in a positive manner.
What is it in your life that has given you the most sense of purpose?
Dr. Remi: My non-profit organization, “Remi TV Nation,” has given me the greatest sense of purpose. Our work is centered around providing Narcan to those who need it, in addition to hosting community fundraising events that support critical causes such as breast cancer research, domestic violence prevention, mental health awareness, and opioid abuse prevention.
Describe a moment when your business or creative goals exceeded your expectations.
Dr. Remi: I was recently awarded the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award by President Biden and the White House. To be recognized by the President of the United States was the greatest honor I could have hoped for in my craft. This experience was definitely a highlight of my life.
Please tell us about the latest accomplishments you’re proud of.
Dr. Remi: This year, I accomplished an incredible feat — earning a Ph.D. in Entertainment Journalism. It was a moment that made me realize all my hard work and dedication in this field had finally paid off. This achievement not only paved the way for my own future but also for my family and community, showing them the importance of perseverance and following their dreams.
Lastly, With such a successful career already, what more do aspire to achieve?
Dr. Remi: My ambition is to establish a television network and further the evolution of the entertainment industry. I aim to continue to ensure that my community is represented on a larger platform without any form of discrimination.

Commencing her career in multimedia, Dr. Remi Jones, launched her self-titled television show, Remi TV. The show became vastly popular and acquired syndication, debuting on TV-9 and the PEG network. Expanding in her notoriety Remi interviewed a plethora of celebrities throughout New York City ranging from Dame Dash, Joey Fatone, Wyclef Jean, Lil Mo, Remy Ma, and DJ Kay Slay. New England’s multipurpose arenas begin to re-open fully for business as a result of the rapid spread of the COVID-19 vaccine.
