Thankful

I’m thankful for the 30 years I’ve been blessed to walk this earth 

30 years filled with ups and downs, smiles and frowns, little moments that came together making me so proud 

I’m thankful for the times I said no even when my body said yes 

Saving me from myself has always been my biggest test 

I’m thankful for the scars, that formed into beauty marks that now reflect in the light 

Thankful for all those times I won those internal fights 

You know the ones that slowly dim your light, trying to take your life, having you wonder if it’s even worth putting up the fight 

Thankful for the skill of putting pen to paper, transforming my experiences into art that can last forever 

This experience called life is not one I was prepared for
