Porter and Lead Author, Laurie Governor Curtis.  Contributing authors will be announced beginning Friday, December 15, 2023. The book will release on March 1, 2024.

Women Who Lead In Sports is a part of the Women Who Lead Anthology book series published by Perfect Time SHP Publishing. Visionary, Dr. Sharon H. Porter selected Laurie G. Curtis, CEO and founder of On The Court Solutions, a former track and basketball athlete as Lead Author for this project. "When it was time to begin the call for authors for this project, Laurie Curtis was the first person I thought of to assist in gathering amazing women athletes to share their stories. Her passion and experience in the sports industry was just what I was looking for", said Porter.

Porter selected Tonia Walker, Senior Associate Commissioner for Strategic Marketing & External Operations/SWA for the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), to write the foreword. Walker was a contributing author in the very first Women Who Lead Anthology, which was published in 2018. Walker was the Athletic Director at Winston-Salem State University at that time.
About the Presenting Authors
Dr. Sharon H. Porter (Dr. Sharon) is the President of SHP Enterprise, the umbrella entity of Perfect Time SHP Book Publishing, SHP Media and Broadcasting, and Vision & Purpose LifeStyle Magazine and Media. She is the Executive Director and Founder of The Next In Line to Lead Aspiring Principal Leadership Academy (APLA), and the New Principal RoundTable, where she trains, mentors, and coaches assistant principals and first-year principals from across the U.S.
Dr. Sharon is the host of The I Am Dr. Sharon Show, The Women Who Lead Podcast, Vision & Purpose Podcast, the upcoming Leading With Purpose Podcast, and The PrinciPAL Podcast. She is co-founder and Vice-President of Media and Communications for WNM Ventures LLC.
Dr. Sharon is the author, visionary, and publisher of The Next In Line to Lead book series, The Women Who Lead Book series, and The HBCU Experience Anthology, book series.
She is a graduate of Howard University, Walden University, Johns Hopkins University, National-Louis University, and Winston-Salem State University. She is a part of the 2019 Harvard University School of Education Women in Leadership Cohort.
Dr. Sharon is a member of the Forbes Coaches Council, ForbesBLK, National Association of Black Journalists, Black Girls In Media, International Association of Women (IAW), American Business Women's Association, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She serves on the Board of Advisors for The Women of Prince George’s. Dr. Sharon is a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach and National Association of Elementary School Principals ( NAESP) Certified Principal Mentor.
Laurie Governor Curtis is an accomplished international speaker, author, coach, and consultant. She is also the CEO and Founder of On The Court Solutions.
Powered by her personal experiences, Laurie helps business leaders, entrepreneurs, and student-athletes overcome fear, frustration, and uncertainty by developing systems and strategies that propel them to new heights of success.
