Howard University Alumni Chapter of Prince George's County, MD (HUAC-PGC MD is offering scholarship awards to two (2) students in theDMV to help offset the cost of attending Howard University during their freshman year.
All graduating seniors in the DMV area committed to attending Howard University are encouraged to apply. The deadline to apply is 11:59 PM, Sunday, May 21st, 2023. Click HERE to apply.

To be eligible for a HUAC-PGC Scholarship, an applicant must demonstrate the following:
1) Reside in the DMV area
2) Be a graduating high school senior from a school in the DMV area during the 2021-2022 school year
3) Received acceptance into Howard University with the intent to attend as a full-time student
4) Have a cumulative grade point average of 2.7 or greater on a 4.0 scale as verified by an official high school transcript or by an accompanying certification from an appropriate school official (i.e., School Registrar or Guidance Counselor)
5) Complete and pass all necessary standardized tests for graduation
6) Be a U. S. citizen, U. S. national, or U. S. permanent resident
7) Interview with the scholarship committee
8) Provide one letter of recommendation
9) Submit a 450 minimum word essay on 1 of the 4 following topics:
Question 1) What do you know about Howard University and why are you interested in attending?
Question 2) What major or program are you interested in and how will this major help you achieve your academic or professional goals?
Question 3) What is your greatest accomplishment or disappointment and describe how it changed your life.
Question 4) Howard University has successful alum in various careers across the world.
