You will also meet the Class of 2023 Community Leaders Awardees. Michelle Marsh will serve as the Community Leaders Award Emcee.

About Stephanie Bolton James, Co-founder and President
Stephanie Bolton James has nearly ten years of experience leading and growing one of Prince George’s County’s largest women’s professional groups, Women of Prince George’s. As a native Washingtonian and professional in the area, Stephanie noticed a need for a resource to connect and support professional women in the Prince George’s County community. In 2010, Stephanie co-founded Women of Prince George’s, a resource where local women business owners and professionals could connect, grow, learn, and ultimately enhance their business position.
Women of Prince George's hosts annual meetings, events, and industry-specific modules, facilitates meaningful business connections, and gives access to an influential professional network. Women of Prince Georges's signature event is its annual conference, where professionals from across the region gather to hear the latest industry trends, learn from powerful speakers, and engage in elite networking. We aspire to educate women, which strengthens our families and builds our communities, thus, increasing our economic position as a global leader.
Stephanie’s work in the community has been recognized with several awards and acknowledgments. In 2011, the Hospitality and Tourism Institute at Prince George’s Community College recognized Stephanie for her commitment and support to the program. In 2014, Stephanie was given the Black Wall Street award at Proud Mary’s Restaurant in Fort Washington, Maryland to commemorate the elite status and true community impact of her organization. In 2015, the organization received both a proclamation for an official Women of Prince Georges Day from States Attorney, Angela Alsobrooks, and a letter of recognition from the County Executive Rushern Baker, congratulating the organization on their impact and success. In 2016, Stephanie served on a panel at the Prince George’s County African American Museum and Cultural Center’s Black Wall Street event.
Stephanie has a B. A. in Business from North Texas State University and a Masters Certification in Events Management from George Washington University. Stephanie has been active with the Association of Meeting Professionals, Society of Government Meeting Planners and Northern Virginia Business Travel Association. Stephanie is a former member of the Links Inc. Reston Chapter, National Coalition of 100 Black Women and the Prince George’s County Chapter of Jack and Jill. Stephanie is a member of the First Baptist Church of Glenarden. Stephanie resides in Upper Marlboro with her family.
