Higher Heights Podcast Welcomes Dr. Jannis Moody

Dr. Jannis Moody is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Lifestyle and Relationship Coach,

Professor of Psychology and Motivational Speaker.

Dr. Moody has dedicated her life's work to promote emotional, psychological, and spiritual wellness; as well as increasing mental health education and awareness. For more than a decade, her career has focused on teaching; mentoring; conducting research; consulting; directing community-based mental health programs; program development; motivational speaking; and providing direct clinical and support services to individuals, families, and groups.

Dr. Moody obtained her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Multicultural Community Clinical Psychology and is currently a Professor at Texas Southern University. Her demonstrated passion and commitment to community service has provided Dr. Moody with a comprehensive and culturally sensitive approach to conceptualizing and implementing treatment with diverse populations. Her knowledge and experience have also facilitated the development of innovative approaches to addressing issues uniquely impacting the psychological wellness of minority and underserved populations. Dr. Moody's current research and clinical work focus primarily on Black women's mental health and factors impacting the relational patterns of African American heterosexuals.

Dr. Moody currently serves as the Southern Regional Representative of the Association of Black Psychologists (ABPsi), as well as the Co-Chair of ABPsi’s HBCU Initiative. She is the Co-Facilitator of A Sister Circle: A Therapeutic Group for Black Women, and the founder of The Black Girl Collective, a Facebook-based empowerment community for Black women.
